R\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 au Salon de Tokyo 2023, le concept Iconic SP montrait clairement la direction d\u2019un futur mod\u00e8le de s\u00e9rie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Au cours du Japan Mobility Show 2023, Mazda a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un impressionnant concept de coup\u00e9 sportif appel\u00e9 Iconic SP int\u00e9grant un moteur rotatif et une propulsion \u00e9lectrique, similaire au r\u00e9cent MX-30 REV. Beaucoup ont extrapol\u00e9, nous y compris, qu\u2019il annon\u00e7ait la prochaine mouture de la MX-5. Cette hypoth\u00e8se semble bien se confirmer.<\/p>\n

Probablement la m\u00eame approche technique pour le mod\u00e8le commercial<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Les publications britanniques Autocar<\/a> et Auto Express<\/a> ont relay\u00e9 les d\u00e9clarations de Masahi Nakayagama, le chef du design chez Mazda. \u201cCe concept ne rel\u00e8ve pas de ces exhibitions sans but<\/strong>. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u dans l\u2019objectif clair de voir le jour en s\u00e9rie d\u2019ici peu<\/strong>\u201d, a-t-il affirm\u00e9. Cela laisse peu de place \u00e0 l\u2019incertitude.<\/p>\n

Selon Naohito Saga, responsable de la recherche et d\u00e9veloppement, tout le d\u00e9veloppement de ce concept-car a \u00e9t\u00e9 envisag\u00e9 en vue d\u2019une fabrication en s\u00e9rie. Il d\u00e9clare que le concept repr\u00e9sente l\u2019engagement de la marque en mati\u00e8re de \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9veloppement durable\u00a0\u00bb et le r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 que le moteur rotatif jouera pour atteindre une empreinte z\u00e9ro \u00e9mission.<\/p>\n

Hydrog\u00e8ne : une voie d\u2019avenir avec le moteur \u00e9lectrique ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mazda a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 une marque qui se veut innovante sur le plan technique, et elle compte le rester. Pour pr\u00e9server un mod\u00e8le iconique comme la MX-5, dont la marque japonaise ne peut se d\u00e9pouiller, une solution p\u00e9renne \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire. Suivant l\u2019exemple du MX-30 REV, le v\u00e9hicule d\u00e9riv\u00e9 du concept Iconic SP combinerait un moteur \u00e9lectrique et un rotor<\/strong>, ce dernier \u00e9tant utilis\u00e9 comme g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur pour alimenter le moteur principal<\/strong>. Et pour diminuer encore les \u00e9missions de CO2, il serait envisageable d\u2019alimenter les deux rotors (contre un seul sur le MX-30 REV) avec des carburants alternatifs, voire de l\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne<\/strong>. Mazda continue de travailler sur cette solution pour l\u2019int\u00e9grer \u00e0 une plateforme enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n

RX-7 ou MX-5 : Vers quel mod\u00e8le se dirigera-t-on ?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La question reste de savoir si l\u2019Iconic SP aboutira \u00e0 une MX-5 ou rouvrira le chapitre du coup\u00e9 RX-7<\/strong>. Auto Express affirme avec certitude que la seconde possibilit\u00e9 semble \u00eatre la plus probable<\/strong>. Bien que compacte, l\u2019Iconic SP d\u00e9passe largement les 4 m\u00e8tres<\/strong> (4,18 m, ressemble \u00e0 un Renault Captur) et p\u00e8se aux alentours de 1 500 kg<\/strong>. Ces sp\u00e9cifications correspondent davantage \u00e0 un RX-7 qu\u2019\u00e0 une nouvelle MX-5<\/strong>. Il est difficile de statuer, mais il est certain que si l\u2019Iconic SP marque le retour du RX-7, la nouvelle MX-5 s\u2019en inspirera probablement d\u2019un point de vue esth\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n

Dans le cas inverse, si ce coup\u00e9 m\u00e8ne au prochain mod\u00e8le de la MX-5, cela impliquera que ce dernier s\u2019\u00e9cartera de sa r\u00e9putation de l\u00e9ger roadster. Toutefois, avec l\u2019in\u00e9vitable \u00e9lectrification, cela semble in\u00e9luctable.<\/p>\n

Skyactiv-Z : En cours d\u2019\u00e9laboration, nouveau moteur 4-cylindres<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Les responsables de Mazda n\u2019ont pas seulement \u00e9voqu\u00e9 le futur de l\u2019Iconic SP, ils ont \u00e9galement abord\u00e9 leur vision pour les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. On note que bien que Mazda projette la mise au point d\u2019une base pour de futurs mod\u00e8les z\u00e9ro \u00e9mission attendus aux alentours de 2027<\/strong>, elle persiste avec les moteurs thermiques. Un moteur 4-cylindres de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration succ\u00e9dera aux Skyactiv-G et Skyactiv-X<\/strong> pour r\u00e9pondre aux exigences Euro 7. Son lancement est pr\u00e9vu pour 2027. Cela signifie que l\u2019arr\u00eat des moteurs thermiques n\u2019est pas encore d\u2019actualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Par ailleurs, la marque poursuit le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un hybride propre<\/strong> qui sera inaugur\u00e9 par la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de CX-5, avant l\u2019\u00e9ch\u00e9ance de 2027.
